The blog tour has now come to an end. This is a bittersweet moment. I truly did enjoy being on the tour, but it was also a lot of work. More than I thought it would be. 😛 I got 2 new reviews, answered some interview questions, and learned some new things about myself and how blog tours work.
Some lessons I learned:
- Don’t try to do too many things at the same time. In other words, wait until the initial marketing rush is finished.
- Have all guest posts written up at least a week ahead of time.
- Remind people of their commitment to host you at least a week before as well as a couple of days before they are scheduled.
- Always have a back up plan just in case someone doesn’t work out.
- Don’t be uptight about what time each post goes live. It all works out just fine in the end.
- BE FLEXIBLE. This one is huge! If you are not flexible, your blog tour will be super stressful since you are relying on so many other people’s busy schedules and lives.
Many, many thanks to:
- Mary Beth Magee for writing such a nice review.
- J. Grace Pennington for interviewing me for her blog.
- Aubrey Hansen for allowing me on her blog for a day and for formatting my book.
- Molly Evangeline for letting me post an excerpt on her blog and for writing her book “Where do I Start?”.
- Jesse Rice for offering to interview me for his blog.
- Michelle Lynn Brown for her creative idea for a 10-word interview and allowing me to be creative with it.
- Carolyn Park-Williams for her lovely review and willingness to help.
- The Holy Worlds Blog for hosting me and posting my excerpt.
Hi, Faith! Thanks again for having me on your tour. I wanted to let you know that, most likely as a result of that particular event, another author contacted me and requested that I do a write up of her work. Blessings, 🙂 Carolyn http://carolynscompositioncorner.wordpress.com
You’re very welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read and review my book. Congratulations!
Congratulations! If it was easy, anybody could do it; meanwhile, you learned a lot for next time. Good job!
