Seasons of Writing

Clean Indie Reads Fall Sale Banner

I have been blessed by the group of authors on the Clean Indie Reads Facebook group and am so excited to be part of this book sale. There are lots of clean books written by independently published authors either free or on sale. Check them out here. There are some awesome books on there!

As part of the blog tour, we are supposed to answer this question:

Do the changing seasons influence your writing and/or choice of books to read?

For me the answer is a no and yes. No, the changing from Summer to Fall doesn’t influence my writing or choice of books to read very much. There are a couple of books I sometimes read in the Autumn and not in most other seasons, but usually it doesn’t. The only writing related things influenced by the seasons is the fact that I usually think more about the Christmas Story retelling I’ve been mulling around for a couple of years.

However, there is another kind of changing season that does influence my writing. Life goes through different seasons and those seasons can definitely influence my writing and reading choices. As an very vague example, recent things going on and happening in my life have influenced both Be Thou My Vision andΒ Amazing Grace slightly, both intentionally or unintentionally. I look forward to seeing how my next season in life influences my writing. πŸ™‚

Today is the last day…

A Mighty Fortress frontcoverTo get A Mighty Fortress on sale. Earlier this week, I was excited to see my rankings go up a LOT. On Sunday, AMF was ranked #601,264 overall (ranking all books) and didn’t rank in the top 100 of either the Christian Western or Western categories. On Tuesday evening, I saw this:

Best Day Ever

As of this posting, the ratings have gone down some, but that’s not surprising since I haven’t sold as many.

BTMV Preorder Promo2There are also only a two weeks and one day until Be Thou My Vision launches and goes up to the normal price of $2.99.

    1. That…would just be weird. Sorry, but as someone who has lived in Wisconsin and had snow almost every year, that would be…weird. If I were writing a Christmas book while living down there, it probably would affect me a little.
