Look at what arrived in the mail on Wednesday! That’s right, it’s the proof copy for Amazing Grace. Unfortunately, there were a few problems. Here’s one of them. Compare these two pictures. One is from my computer and the other is from the book.
Do you see the difference? That has been fixed. There was also a font change, so that has also been fixed, but changing the font also meant extra pages so the book cover needs a little bit of tweaking. Oh well. Another week or more until I can push the publish button on the paperback. It’s a little disappointing, but I’d rather have it right than have something like that. *points to picture above*
In the meantime, here’s a few more pictures Mom took of me holding my lovely proof copy.
Before I get to one of my favorite excerpts from Amazing Grace,, I’d like to remind you to check out the blog tour. On Thursday, Jess Strong posted an author interview of me that was super fun and on Monday, there will be a character interview with Caleb on Annie’s blog. And now for the excerpt:
As Caleb read the last word, he let the letter fall to the floor. She’d actually written him back and she’d written a long letter. And she was a lady in distress! Not that it really mattered, but ever since his mother had read those fairy tales out loud at bedtime, he had dreamed of being a prince in shining armor. Or was it a knight in shining armor? He shrugged. Either way, if he somehow managed to win this woman’s heart, he might just be able to be that…person…in shining armor after all. Only without the armor. And without being a prince or a knight.
That’s so exciting that you are almost ready to publish! Those are great pictures of you 🙂
Thank you, Eliza! 🙂 I liked those pictures, too.
Beautiful pictures! (you and the book!) But bummer about the couple errors. I hope those are fixed soon for you! 🙂
Thank you, Raechel! 🙂
