Introduction:

I got this book on recommendation from the author. I don’t personally like to read fantasy that has magic and Kendra mentioned this one doesn’t have magic. So I thought I would give it a try.

Characters: .75/1

The characters were well-developed, interesting, and those with imaginations still intact were interesting. I liked how, even though Jen didn’t have an imagination, she still managed to have an interesting life that made the book more worth reading.

Dialogue: 1/1

I thought all of the dialogue was well written and realistic.

Plot/storyline: .75/1

There were times this story was hard to follow. It kind of jumped all over the place. But that can also be attributed to the fact that it’s written about someone’s imagination, so that makes sense. Maybe if I was more into fantasy, I would have had an easier time understanding it.

Overall writing quality: .25/1

The writing style itself was good, it was also consistent the whole way through. However, I found lots of typos and grammatical errors that made it hard to read. There were a few times I had no idea what the sentence was supposed to say and had to read it three or more times.

Un-put-down-ability: .5/1

As I mentioned under plot/storyline, I sometimes had a hard time following the story, but otherwise it was good. I did put it down a few times because of that as well as more times I had to put it down to do other things.

Conclusion: 3.25/5

If you like fantasy, this is a good one. It is also an inspirational story of how one person’s sacrifice can save so many people. If you can overlook the typos, it is especially good and is one person’s imaginative tale of what an imagination could be like.
