Author Interview: Daniel Friedmann

Today’s post is an author interview with another new-to-me author, Daniel Friedmann. His new book sounds very interesting!

Good morning and welcome to my blog! I’m excited to have you here and hope you have some fun with these questions. Since this blog is about and for writers, most of the questions will be about writing with a few optional, fun questions at the end.

  1. What is your writing process? Do you outline before you start?

I crate a detailed outline for the book. Then as I work though each chapter, I update the outline. I mix research with writing usually researching a future book while writing my current book, but because the books are related I often pause writing do some more research and then resume.

  1. How do you develop your characters? Do you use images found online, a Pinterest board, character sketches, or develop them as you write?

Because I write non fiction my characters are real people so I research them, find pictures of them, letters etc. to try to bring them to life

  1. What is your best advice for getting rid of writer’s block?

Do some research for the book- that will take your mind of the curent writing, reveal something new and help you try again the next day!

  1. If you could share one piece of advice that you wish someone else had told you to an aspiring writer, what would it be?

Don’t get feedback from people you know but from readers in your genre and subject with a keen interest in what you are writing about.

  1. What is your favorite genre?

Nonfiction science and religion

Fun (optional) questions:

Pizza or Pasta? pizza

Favorite movie? Peter Sellers’ comedies

Favorite Bible verse? In the beginning God created…

Coffee, tea, or water? water

Favorite movie adaptation? Apollo 13
