Lessons learned from “A Brother is Born”
Kickball is not a game for the faint of heart. Apologies, Alex, but someone had to get my lack of all skills remotely athletic. Although I would have loved the “no strikeouts” rule when I played kickball…
Don’t judge one person’s love by another person’s actions. We all have people we get along with and relate to better than others, but don’t make the mistake of thinking that the people who love you most are the ones who act in the ways you like best. People express love differently, and just because someone doesn’t act or talk like your favorite book/movie/real life person doesn’t mean they love you less. Don’t wait for them to act in the way you want; learn to hear and speak love in their language, too.
Science class is more fun with cookies. Nuff said.
Lessons Learned from “By Paths Unknown”
Nap in hidden places – If you want a nap, don’t sleep where you can be easily found. Unless of course you don’t care if you are woken up.
Good friends are from God – Everyone needs a true friend or two who will listen when you need to talk, will speak truth even if you don’t want to hear it, will forgive sharp words or unkind actions, and will make you smile when you don’t feel like it. Are you one of those friends?
Fences take longer – Putting up a fence will take longer than you think it will. So be prepared.
